  HCCC Student Elected to Regional PTK Office; Chapter Recognized

  HCCC鈥檚 chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) received an award at the PTK New York Regional Convention, held in Rochester, March 17-19, for 鈥淢ost Distinguished Honors in Action.鈥澛燭he research project, 鈥淭eamwork Makes the Dream Work,鈥� explored the theme of how the experience of play can serve as a catalyst for epiphanies, innovations, and inventions.聽The project was led by chapter president Kyle Poulos, Sanborn, NY, and featured the efforts of many active members.聽Poulos is a sophomore majoring in Criminal Justice, and he also serves as a student trustee on the HCCC Board of Trustees.

  HCCC to Host 鈥楬aunted鈥� Author Dennis Webster, Friday, March 31

  HCCC will host local author and paranormal investigator, Dennis Webster, for a presentation on 鈥淗aunted Mohawk Valley鈥� at 1:30 p.m., Friday, March 31, in the Robert McLaughlin College Center (RMCC 288). The event is free and open to the public.

  HCCC has named 17 student recipients of the 2023 Empire State Diversity Honor Scholarships.

  HCCC to hold Spring Open House

  HCCC will hold an open house on Saturday, March 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Prospective students and families will have the opportunity to tour the campus, meet faculty and staff, and learn about programs and services. Families will have opportunities to attend a financial aid session and meet with other prospective and current students. Lunch will be provided.

  HCCC will host the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III Men鈥檚 Basketball National Championship Tournament Wednesday, March 15 through Saturday, March 18. This is the first year HCCC will be hosting the national tournament.
